A spectacular duel unfolds deep beneath the earth. You take turns sending out mighty dragons to conquer territories. But place them wisely! If your beasts grow too powerful, they'll turn on each other, and you could lose everything.
Dragon Overload is a card game for two, part of our 2026 Summer of Games.
You compete to send your dragons into five landscapes and gain majority there. Each zone is associated with a specific family of dragons and can hold only a limited number of cards.
How does it work? On your turn, you select one of your cards and place it in one of the available slot on your side of the board. Your opponent gets the card from the pile of the chosen area, and he then plays one of his cards. And so on…
The game is based on a territory-control mechanism, but accumulating power isn't necessarily the best strategy. If the strength of your dragons reaches at least twice that of your opponent’s in a zone, your creatures become uncontrollable and you automatically lose that territory. This rule turns your duels into an exercise in balance and anticipation.
Dragon Overload incorporates an element of bluffing thanks to the possibility to play up to three cards face down. Incomplete information forces your opponent to interpret your intentions while protecting their own plans.
The game ends when one player controls all five territories, when an opponent can no longer perform a valid action, or when all zones are filled. The player with the most territory at that point wins.

Гра базується на механізмі контролю території, але накопичення сили не обов'язково є найкращою стратегією. Якщо сила ваших драконів у певній зоні щонайменше вдвічі перевищує силу опонента, ваші істоти стають некерованими, і ви автоматично втрачаєте цю територію. Це правило перетворює ваші дуелі на вправу на баланс та передчуття.
Dragon Overload містить елемент блефу завдяки можливості зіграти до трьох карт сорочкою вниз. Неповна інформація змушує вашого опонента інтерпретувати ваші наміри, захищаючи власні плани.
Гра закінчується, коли один гравець контролює всі п'ять територій, коли суперник більше не може виконати коректну дію або коли всі зони заповнені. Перемагає гравець з найбільшою кількістю територій на цей момент.
