The same happened to me, table #36326821.
I was supposed to choose from 9 tiles during my 4th explore but only 3 tiles were shown (6 less than expected). Then the next action was supposed to be the "Alien research team" but no tiles were displayed to choose from and I could not do anything to make the game go forward.

Same sequence happened to me at table 36814383 turn ~357: my final Scout didn't draw enough tiles, and then my Alien Research Team stalled out the game.

Just want to vent a little - it's really demoralizing after climbing the ELO ladder up to 2nd place to have it so thoroughly devastated in a single game by a bug. Please please fix!

#37377563 just had this bug at the end and someone kicked me when i ran out of time instead of abandoning.

I don't think it has been fixed, since it happened today as well. No more tiles in bag, so player "FreeWifi" was unable to proceed in game 43428608.

Obvious that we ran out of tiles. Previous player abandoned 4 tiles, and got only 4 back. Then the player with Alien Research Team had to pick a tile, but was given no tile options, and there's no way to pass or skip. Abandon is the ONLY way forward here, unless you want to wait for that player to not play and boot them, which seems wrong.

Dear all,

The recent bug (< 2 days) which block the game AFTER picking the tile from Alien Research Team has been fixed.

However, this is pretty clear that there is another (way more older) bug with this tile.

We introduced today (Dec 11st 2020) something to allow us to have a better understanding on this bug. To continue working on this, we would need some more examples of tables ID with this bug, with tables created after Dec 11st 2020 15:00 GMT.

Thanks for your help for fix this issue.

This happened to my group today. 5 player game, one player took the last tile in a scout action, when Alien Research activated, it asks me to take a tile but no tiles can be taken. This was at 98% game completion, so very near the end of the game. Game text says discarded tiles were re-added to the bag, but it does not appear to have happened.

The general action of not being able to choose a tile and being blocked happened on table=169844703
and a previous abandoned table.
We've been able to replicate this bug somewhat frequently without the need of Alien Research Team, just by having multiple players aggressively taking out tiles from exploring so that there are no more tiles to choose from, at which point the game hard-locks the next time a player tries to explore with their last remaining explore die.

Empty bag, alien reserach team at table 241580916 turn 329. usually I would except to display the tiles to show, as the bag is empty I would excpect to choose "skip the ability" or to auto-skip with a short message.
Currently the game stucks.

This is the proper match for the bug. So, no tiles in the bag and my Alien Research Team requires me to select a tile with none displayed.

Note: The log shows the Alien Research Team action to occur for the player *before me* in turn order (who does not have Alien Research Team) - who drew zero tiles - and then moved on to my turn.

We are having this same issue. The game is still ACTIVE. I converted it to turn based so you would have a few days to investigate.

I implemented a workaround that simply skips the action when trying to draw from an empty bag.
