The situatiation you are describing is according to the rules used for this implementation (see rules link to pagat.com)
"The usual rule is that when a nil fails, the tricks won by the nil bidder do not count towards making the partner's bid, but do count as bags for the team."

Ya, I'm not a fan of this rule and wish it were optional. I know there may be a handful of variants... but logically, it does not make sense not to count a trick that your partner takes just because they had bid NIL. It's a trick ... why is it treated like it's invisible?

But if one bids NIL, then the making of any tricks (1) must lead to bags and (2) are not tricks that the player SOUGHT to win, so shouldn't count as though they were.

Further, if they DID, and if the non-zero partner also got MORE than they bid, then logically the zero player's tricks should ALSO count as bags within their partner's score. You can't have your cake AND eat it !

I guess the logic here is, that as soon as one player bids nil, the team is seperated into two individuals for scoring (because you can get nil only as an individul). After calculating the scores for both players without looking at the partner, the scores are summed up for the team.

The tricks of the Partner do not count for the nil-bid and the tricks of the nil-player do not count for his partner.

Example:
Player 1 -> Bid 0 / Got 2 Tricks --> -100 for Nil-bid / 2 Bags (took more tricks than he/she bid)
Player 2 -> Bid 4 Got 5 Tricks --> 40 for Bid / 1 Bag (took more than bid)
Team --> - 60 Points / 3 Bags

This seems logical to me

It's totally logical, and the correct rule, and it should be the default for sure. It's just, it's hard enough to get people to play Spades, and this is a common house rule that fits with it being a team game so if it's possible to have it be an option, that'd be nice. :) Clearly this is not a must have, nor is it high priority.

Err, to clarify, I don't think this is a bug, which is how it was originally reported. More like a request? Is it better to file a separate report marking it as a request? Or don't bother? :)

Just to confirm, the way I have always played the game. The nil bid is the only solitary bid in the game, so as a result the 4 bid of the partner is still a team bid. So both players can add to achieving that.

I don't have any official ruling reference, but just wanted to address that the reasoning (initially reported as a bug) is not uncommon.

When I was playing money spades, the nil rule was that if you break the partner, you break the nil as well, and if you break the nil, you break the partner as well. In either case the score was just -100, and the bags are the number of tricks by which the partner's bid was exceeded.
