So, this is confirmed as a bug. Can it be fixed? Because it just happened to me, and it might cost me the game, as I have no way to recruit another 5-coin character, and, if the game would allow me to claim it as I should be able to, I would be able to trigger the end-game and win by a good margin.

I didn't even acquire another character from the ocean. I haven't done anything. It's just not letting me claim the goal.

From game history, you cancelled your move at #152.
Actually, the bugs can be mitigate if, during the current turn, you recruit a character with 5 coins (not recruit for free a character with 5 coins cost). You have to pay at least 5 coins in mantas / location.

This bug is when you have paid your character with 5 coins and you activate a Recruit for free secondary action with a location. If this happen, you can reset your turn and complete the goal before the Recruit for free

I have not done a recruit for free. In fact, since buying the character for 5 coins, I have not taken any action whatsoever.

Is it in your power to revert the game to fix this is any way?

Just to make sure this is clear: On my previous turn, I paid 5 coins to recruit a character costing 5 coins, thus enabling me to be eligible for the goal.

Buit, as per the game rules, I did not wish to waste a manta yet, knowing I might need it. I wanted to wait until my next turn, use a manta, THEN claim the goal with that tired manta.

My first attempted move at move 152 was to use a location depth to recruit a character for free, but I immediately canceled it because I remembered the bug.

So, the game reverted to the original state, at which point I had literally taken zero actions since I had paid 5 coins for the ocean character.

So, the bug is NOT, in fact, triggered by using a location depth to recruit a character for free. The bug occurred because I did not claim the goal on the same turn I earned it. But we do not need to do that. The rulebook explicitly says you can achieve a goal and wait to place the manta to claim it. And all other goals follow that rule.

Can the game be reverted to game state right after I bought the character for 5 coins? My opponent's turn did not change the game state in any way. (And in fact, This would allow him to make a different move, if he wishes, and I am okay with that. I just want my 5 points for the goal so I can claim the win I obviously have.

There has to be a way to fix this. We would literally just be backing up one turn, allowing me to claim the goal I earned, and then the game can proceed as normal.

Anyone can look at this game and see that I have a dominating win (against the second highest rated player) if it just lets me claim the goal I earned. Literally on this turn, I achieve the 4th goal and claim it, and then score big points on my final turn.

I was about to accumulate 5 coin resources and complete the goal a second time later in the game, and to be safe, I claimed it immediately.

@FrankJones : Like the goal who required 5 fully raisen location, you must complete the goal during the turn you recruit with at least 5 coins.

Is that also true for two other similar goals that could be difficult to verify if not claimed on the turn when it happens?

Those are:

1) "Discard all but one of your character cards"
2) "Have 10 or more character cards in your discard pile"

I would assume those must be claimed with a manta while the condition is true, and cannot be claimed once the condition becomes false. So, playing the Matrona, for example, and then going to the next turn without claiming the goal for those two goals, would cause a similar situation to not claiming the "recruit a character for 5 coins" goal?
