There seems to be a disconnect between UI on Iphone and what was reported in the game. I was playing on my iphone and surrounded the bee first. It looks like my move to have the grasshopper was not recorded earlier in the game. The issue may have manifested itself earlier. At some point I had tried to move the spider next to my beetle but it only displayed 1 valid move.

Your screenshot shows a display bug, but this situation does not appear with the replay and you do not provide precise elements to find the origin of this display bug.
However, I note an anomaly in the history: the number of moves starts at 2, and there is no move# 1, regardless of the player chosen for the replay. This bug should be fixed.
Your bug has probably been fixed already, or was linked to a temporary failure of BGA service.
In any case, when filling a bug report, make sure to have an explicit title linked to the incident (ex: with error message), so other players can recognize it and vote for it.
